Owner Comments:
No commemorative half dollars were minted during 2012. In 2013, a commemorative half dollar was issued to honor two Five Star Generals of the United States. It was the 19th half dollar minted in the "Modern Commemorative" era. The obverse of the 2013-S half dollar features the busts of Generals Henry Arnold and Omar Bradley. The reverse features the crest of Fort Leavenworth (the location for the Command and General Staff College).
There were 47,337 proof coins produced. These half dollars are made from 92% copper and 8% nickel. The 2013-S half is fairly common in perfect PF70 graded condition.
