Owner Comments:
The 1990 dollar commemorates the 100th anniversary of Dwight D. Eisenhower's birth (1890-1990). It is the first silver coin that West Point Mint produced. The obverse of the coin features a left profile of Dwight D. Eisenhower as a 5-Star Army officer, and there is superimposed a right profile of an older Eisenhower as the 34th U.S President. The reverse of the coin features an image of Eisenhower's home. There were 241,669 uncirculated coins produced by the West Point Mint and 1,144,461 proof coins minted by the Philadelphia Mint. These dollars are somewhat difficult to find in a perfect MS70 and PF70 condition.
