Owner Comments:

The 1989 gold $5 coin commemorates the 200th anniversary of the U.S. Congress. The obverse of the coin features an image of the dome atop the U.S. Capitol Building in Washington, D.C. The reverse of the coin features an eagle design that was displayed in the old Senate chamber. There were 46,899 uncirculated and 164,690 proof coins minted by the West Point Mint. Because of the relatively high mintages, perfectly graded MS70 and PF70 coins are fairly easy to find.
