Owner Comments:

In 2006, the U.S. Mint issued a pair of Benjamin Franklin Silver Dollars to celebrate the 300th anniversary of the birth of Benjamin Franklin. The obverse of the first coin features Benjamin Franklin as a scientist, with a kite in hand, discovering electricity. The second coin shows an older Ben Frankin, in his 70's, as an American Founding Father. The reverse of the first coin features an editorial cartoon image of a snake severed apart with the words "Join or Die." For the second coin, the reverse features a representation of a 1776 Continental Dollar.

There were 58,000 uncirculated and 142,000 proof coins (of each version of the coin) produced by the Philadelphia Mint. The MS70 graded dollars are very plentiful and easy to find at an affordable price. The PF70 graded dollar is in fairly good supply as well. This was a very cool issue to have one individual honored on two different coins.
