It was the 12th half dollar minted in the "Modern Commemorative" era. The obverse of the 1995-S half dollar features an iconic scene of a batter, catcher, and umpire. The reverse of the coin features a world map and the symbol for the Atlanta Committee for the Olympic Games. There were 164,605 uncirculated coins minted. These half dollars are made from 92% copper and 8% nickel.
