Owner Comments:

NGC Cameo Populations:
The total mintage figure for 1963 is 3,075,645. As of 12/2018, NGC certified coin populations show that there are 6497 Cameo coins total in all grades making up 0.21% of the total mintage while there are 947 Ultra Cameo coins making up 0.03%.

Cameo Availability:
1963 shared many of the same characteristics as the 1961 & 1962 (high mintage, milk spots, hairlines, large number melted). The mint produced many attractive high grade cameos similar to 1962. One can see that the populations of Cameos and Ultra Cameos are similar to 1962. My experience is that I see 1963 coins come up a little less often than 1962 coins but still more often than the other years in the series.

This Coin:
This coin is pure white with no toning, has clean deep fields and strong cameo (obv: cameo+, rev: ucam). This is a nice solid clean coin with excellent eye-appeal. I passed up a few others because of spotting and toning before finding this one.
