Owner Comments:
This coin is a transitional piece. In 1860 the dimes and half dimes changed from having stars on the obverse to having the "United States of America" legend on the obverse. The current coin is dated 1860 but has stars on the Obverse. At purchased this coin from Northeast Numismatics. They have great inventory and fair prices. Coast to Coast has great inventory but the prices are too steep with the rare exception. Usually for truly rare coins (i.e. not 1909 S VDB which is not even close to rare) the auctions have been my best source. This is unless a bidding war occurs at which point restraint must be exercised.
