No commemorative $5 gold coins were produced in 2009 and 2010. In 2011 the mint produced two military-themed coins. The second honored the creation of the U.S. Army in 1775. The obverse image features a group of five soldiers across history (from the Revolutionary War to the present). The reverse of the coin features the U.S. Army emblem capped by a text inscription "Department of the Army."
There was a small mintage of 8,052 uncirculated coins produced by the Philadelphia Mint and 17,148 proof coins produced by the West Point Mint. The MS70 (around 250) and PF70 graded coins (around 220) are difficult to find. I think in years to come these "sleeper" coins may turn out to be deemed key releases in the Modern Commemorative era.
