Owner Comments:

Three commemorative dollars were issued in 1993. The second dollar was issued to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of World War II. The obverse of the coin features an American soldier storming the shores of Normandy on D-Day, June 6, 1944. The reverse of the coin features a shoulder patch and a long text inscription from General Dwight D. Eisenhower that reads: "I have full confidence in your courage, devotion to duty and skill in battle. We will accept nothing less than full victory!" There were 107,240 uncirculated coins produced by the Denver Mint, and 342,042 proof coins produced by the West Point Mint. The West Point Mint proof dollars are difficult to source in perfect PF70 condition.
