Owner Comments:

Three commemorative dollars were issued in 1991. The first dollar commemorates the golden anniversary (50th) of Mount Rushmore. The obverse of the coin features an image of the four presidents memorialized on the monument (Washington, Jefferson, Teddy Roosevelt, and Lincoln). The reverse of the coin features the Great Seal of the United States superimposed on an outline of America, along with the inscription "Shrine of Democracy." There were 133,139 uncirculated coins produced by the Philadelphia Mint and 738,419 proof coins minted by the San Francisco Mint. Despite the high mintages, these dollars are fairly easy to find in perfect MS70 condition, but are tough to find in PF70 condition.
