Owner Comments:
The first commemorative dollar released in 2017 was the Lions Clubs International Centennial silver dollar, issued in celebration of the service club's 100th anniversary. The obverse of the coin features a portrait of Melvin Jones, the founder of the organization. The reverse of the coin features a family of lions and an inscription that reads "Celebrating 100 Years of Service."
There was a very small mintage of 17,250 uncirculated and 68,525 proof coins produced by the Philadelphia Mint. Because the production of the MS coins was low, this coin is relatively scarce in MS70 condition. The pop report for perfect PF70 graded coins is also low. Years from now, this may become a key coin.
