Engraver: Edgar Bertram Mackennal {Sir Edgar Bertram Mackennal KCVO RA (12 June 1863 – 10 October 1931), usually known as Bertram Mackennal, was an Australian sculptor and medallist, most famous for designing the coinage and stamps bearing the likeness of George V. He signed his work "BM".}

On the coin, the King appeared wearing the chain of the Most Eminent Order of the Indian Empire. Because of poor engraving, the elephant looked very much like a pig. The Muslim population was enraged and the image had to be quickly redesigned. Most of these were melted.

King Edward VII died on 6th May 1910. His son King George V became the King, His coronation was done on 22nd June 1911. Coins were minted in India with the effigy of King George V from 1911 to 1936.
