1894-O $1 AU55 Deep Mirror Prooflike NGC. NGC Census: (1/3). PCGS Population: (0/3). The 1894-O Morgan dollar is elusive in any condition but those with reflective surfaces are exceedingly rare. To date, both NGC and PCGS record only three grading events each in the Deep Prooflike category for this date and mint, or a total of six. Boldly struck 1894-0 Morgan dollars with reflective surfaces such as this one are even more challenging to locate. Moreover, the fields and devices on this coin are remarkably clean and devoid of any noteworthy marks. Light wear is consistent with the coin’s AU 55 rating. The original mintage of 1,723.000 pieces offers a range of available coins for the 1894-0 Morgan dollar today, but precious few with the deep mirror finish as found here. (Registry values: P7, N491) (NGC ID# 255W, PCGS# 97231).
