JNDA 02-7. This is the currently circulating 50 yen coin. It retains the chrysanthemum theme seen on the prior coins of the denomination, but with blossoms plus foliage. It also retains the center hole. Consistent with the other now circulating denominations, the obverse has the government legend and denomination in kanji, and the reverse uses an Arabic number and shows the date.
Diameter 21 mm, cupronickel, weight 4.00 grams.
