NGC graded PF 66 Cameo
Variety: V-11u

This coin appeared in the Heritage auction associated with the 2017 FUN show. I purchased it as an upgrade to an NGC PF 64 Cameo. When I compared the two coins closely, it became apparent that they were produced from different obverse dies. (The date is farther left on this coin.) There is no mention of multiple proof varieties for 1871 in the available literature. Another member of the Liberty Seated Collectors Club, after seeing my post about this on the club's chat boards, took it upon himself to check 15 other 1871 proofs in the Heritage archives. He found that all 15 are like my other one. Thus, so far, this is the only one known produced from its obverse die.
