Owner Comments:

The availability of 1891-CC dollars has varied with time. Quantities of this issue were put into circulation as soon as the coins were minted, unlike the issues of the 1880s. Bags of these coins were also distributed at face value at various times, until the 1950s. As a result, this date was one of the most available Carson City silver dollars in the first half of the 20th century. As a result of this early distribution, few coins were left in the vaults by the time of the great Treasury release of the 1960s. When large quantities of other dates were released in this flood, the 1891-CC became fairly uncommon by comparison. Today, this date is much less available in Mint State than the issues of the 1880s.
