Seller description:
1894 $1 AU58 Prooflike NGC. Census: 6 in 58 Prooflike, 6 finer (5/16). Rarely Seen With Reflective Surfaces. Although this scarce P-mint issue's mintage of 110,000 pieces is among the lowest in the series (theoretically resulting in less overworked dies), it is quite unusual to find an example with prooflike qualities. This untoned representative appears to have entered circulation for a brief period of time, but the surviving luster in the protected fields exhibits unmistakable glassy reflectivity. A shallow facial mark is more ill-placed than individually offensive. (Registry values: P8, N991) (NGC ID# 255V, PCGS# 7229)
