Owner Comments:
MEXICO Ferdinand VII. 1820-Mo JJ AV 1/2 Escudo. NGC MS62. Mexico City. FERD · VII · D · G · HISP · ET IND. Laureate head right / Crowned oval shield. KM 112; Fr.-57.
Fantastic little coin. As of January 2016, top pop of only 4 graded.
From the sale's catalogue: "Ferdinand VII gold 1/2 Escudo 1820 Mo-JJ MS62 NGC, Mexico City mint, KM112, Cal-367. Mint State with strong mint bloom, slight strike softness on the shield and scattered non-obtrusive handling marks preventing a higher designation. The final date of this scarce issue, very rare and most desirable in this quality. The Rudman example of this date (Heritage Auctions 9/2015, lot 31369) hammered for $1,200 in AU58 NGC certification."
