1869 Silver Dollar, PR64 Cameo
Seldom Seen This Well-Contrasted

1869 $1 PR64 Cameo PCGS. Proof silver dollar coinage amounted to only 600 coins in 1869, and extant examples are highly sought-after by date collectors due to the scarcity of their business strike counterparts, which were heavily exported for trade. Cameo examples are the most desirable, but are scarce to rare at all grade levels. This Choice piece boasts profound field-device contrast with full mirroring in the recesses. The strike is crisp and there is just a blush of light golden color over each side. Population: 16 in 64 Cameo, 5 finer (10/14).(Registry values: N2998) (NGC ID# 252R, PCGS# 87017)
