This 31.103 grams, .999 Ag, 37mm, Austrian 1.5 Euro coin is being minted throughout 2015 and has a NGC population of only 882. The obverse of this coin depicts a harmonious assortment of musical instruments, including a string bass, cellos, violins, a bassoon, a harp, and a Viennese horn. The reverse of this coin features the great organ of the Musikverein concert hall in Vienna (the orchestra's home), face value, weight and year of issue are also featured at the bottom.The Vienna Philharmonic coin has proved to be a massive hit with investors and collectors. Tens of millions of pieces have sold since the inception of the series in 2008. Their mint of manufacture is in Heumarkt, which is located in central Vienna. It has been in constant operation for over 800 years minting coins in gold and silver as well as in copper and other base metals. Although their first method of manufacture was by hammer and anvil, the Austrian Mint has kept up with technology, and currently have machinery that can mint up to 750 coins per minute.
