Owner Comments:
By mintage the 1849-O is the 4th rarest New Orleans mint $10, but it is the second scarcest no motto eagle from the 1840s. Normally when this date actually surfaces it is seen in the VF/XF range and is characterized by heavily abraded surfaces. The total number of coins graded by the major services is only 178coins in all grades. Please note that there are only 4 coins in uncirculated grades, none higher than Mint State 61, making our coin tied for second finest and representing 50% of its grade class as well as 25% of all uncirculated 1849-O Eagles.
