Owner Comments:
Nice early Queen Victoria shilling with mostly medium gray-gold patina. Coin is identified on holder as ESC-1283 (no WW incused at base of bust, I think). Obverse wear appears to be commensurate with grade; reverse wear is easily strong fine, possibly very fine. Cost: $12.75 on 2/1/15 on eBay from Gerald Krupa (coinnutt).
Mintage: 5,666,760 (includes both varieties). Unsure of rarer variety, pricing is similar in all grades.
Series identifier: KM #734.1. Composition: 92.5% silver. Weight: 5.6552 grams.
Obverse: Young Victoria, head left. Reverse: Crown above denomination within wreath.
NumisMaster World Coin Price Guide value at time of purchase: $170.00 in VF20, $550.00 in XF40.
