Seller description:
Gorgeous, Conditionally Rare Example. 1901-O $1 MS65 Deep Mirror Prooflike NGC. Census: 24 in 65 Deep Mirror Prooflike, 1 finer (3/14). This high-mintage issue is far from rare, and examples are easily obtained in Mint State grades up to and including MS65. With Prooflike or Deep Mirror Prooflike fields, however, this is a conditionally scarce-to-rare date. Prooflike coins are somewhat available, but Deep Mirror Prooflikes are few and far-between. This is a gorgeous example with rich toning and clean, well-preserved surfaces. The deeply prooflike fields are indeed glassy and highly reflective, while the crisply struck devices show a bit of light frosting on both sides. (Registry values: P2, N2998) (NGC ID# 256K, PCGS# 97275).
