The 2002 panda coins were only struck in BU quality. No varieties exist. This is the first year that the panda design did not change from the previous year; however, the edge was changed to an oblique slanted reeding in lieu of straight up and down. The edge slanted reeding design has remained this way since 2002.
Mintage was 500,000.
