This NGC®Registry set celebrates the admission of the Territory of Hawai'i as the 50th State of the United States of America.This Hawai'i Statehood Medals Design Type Set introduces five medal designs that commemorate Hawai'i as the 50th State of the United States of America.

On August 21, 1959, Hawai'i joined the United States of America as its 50th State. To commemorate Hawaii's statehood, several companies designed and struck medals for this rare historic event.

The criteria for the inclusion in this collection of Hawai'i Statehood Medal Design Type Set
  1. Medal must commemorate the Statehood of Hawai'i
  2. Medal must be issued for the occasion (struck in 1959 or immediately thereafter)
  3. Medal must showcase a unique design (metal, error type and other distinguishing attributes are not considered)
  4. Medal must be struck in the United States of America
  5. Medal must be made available to the public for the occasion
Under these criteria there are five Hawai'i Statehood Medal designs:
    Type 1 - The Medallic Art Company Medal Design
  • Type 2 - The Heraldic Art Company Medal Design
  • Type 3 - The G&G Distributors Medal Design
  • Type 4 - The Salvation Army Fund Medal Design
  • Type 5 - The Mishler Medal Design
