1880-S MS66* PL. A stunning DMPL obverse. This is a gorgeous coin that looks like a proof. It recieved a star designation because of the DMPL obverse, very white frost and clear clean mirrors. The orange you see in the mirrors is the color of the shirt I was wearing when I took this picture! This coin would be a high 67 or low 68 except for a strike through on the cheek. It is not a bagmark because the frost extends through it, but it still results in a full grade reduction.
This is the kind of dollar that makes cameo DMPL lovers get stupid. I won't admit to what I paid for this coin, but I wouldn't consider selling it for twice what I paid. You can spend a lifetime looking for a cameo that looks like this one. Purchased fron the Executive Coin Company.
