Set Description
This sets consists of Trade coins that circulated in the Orient, primarily China. Some of them have chopmarks, which were punched into the coins by merchants to verify both the silver content and fineness. The Spanish 8 Reales was the most accepted of all the Trade Coins. Great Britain, France, Japan, Mexico, and the United States all tried to make inroads but were never quite as popular at the 8 Reales.
