So Called Dollars - Uniface 1959 Alaska-Hawaii Statehood (Mishler Issue)

Set Description
Clifford Mishler privately issued a series of medals to commemorate the combined Alaska-Hawaii statehood. Both Alaska and Hawaii joined the United States of America in 1959 as the 49th State and 50th State respectively.The Mishler Alaska-Hawaii medal series uses the same obverse (Alaska) and reverse (Hawaii) designs, but are struck on different metals and finishes These metals and finishes include:

(1) Rose Gold 10K
(2) Sterling Silver
(3) Bright Bronze
(4) Oxidized Bronze
(5) Bright Copper
(6) Oxidized Copper
(7) Oxidized Nickel-Silver
(8) Aluminum.

Prior to the striking to the above medals, 11 pairs of "Uniface Trial Pieces" were struck.These medals were not sold and were provided to various collectors. This set contains 1 of the 11 pairs struck.

The purpose of this set is to share the rarity and uniqueness of the Mishler "Uniface Trial Pieces".
