This Colorado themed National Commemorative Medal was struck by the Philadelphia Mint rather than the Denver Mint. It celebrates the 100th anniversary of the discovery of gold in Colorado and subsequent “Rush to the Rockies.” The reverse design commemorates the establishment of the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs. 10,000 struck in .900 fine silver only.
