Medal, Plaquette 1854-1923, Bronze, France. PAUL MICHAUX (Medical Doctor), by Charles Villandre, French medallist and scepter. Size: 60.5mm. Weight 73.13 Grams. Obv. Portrait bust of Michaux looking right, name below; Rv. Branch and Leaves. First President of Medical Hospital student competition organization, also Founded sports and gymnastic competition organizations which later became known as the FSCF. To mark the remembrance and gratitude to its founder, the FSCF rewards volunteerism of its members with medals bearing the likeness of Dr. Michaux. This is one of those award medals, uninscribed. Michaux was awarded a medal himself, the Legion of Honor Medal, and it was by Marschal Foch. Marshal Ferdinand Foch, was a French soldier, military theorist, and the Allied Généralissime during the First World War. Purchased in France.
