Lyman Allen #8.05 (KM #169) - Mintage: 312,199

General
Demand for the new reduced size and weight ten centavos had been pretty well satisfied by the end of 1908, and treasury reserves had been replenished. No ten centavos coins were required in 1909 until September, when the entire mintage for that year was struck. Although 1910-S ten centavo pieces are rumored to exist, no dies were created by the U.S. Mint Engraving department for use in 1910. Ten centavos coins would not be struck again until 1911.

This Coin
It is very likely that all of the 1909 dated ten centavos eventually entered circulation which makes uncirculated specimens relatively rare. I feel very fortunate that I was able to acquire this one when I did. It was offered on the old Teletrade website and was most likely part of the famous "justhavingfun" collection.
