The Founding Father issue for the 300th anniversary of Benjamin Franklin's birth was the second of two coin issues for Mr. Franklin in 2006. The Philadelphia Mint struck both the uncirculated and proof versions of both the "Scientist" and "Founding Father" issued coins.
Franklin struggled with obesity his whole life, which lead to many health problems at his death more than 20,000 people attended his funeral. At his grave he requested a simple stone with the inscriptions "Benjamin and Deborah Franklin".
DID YOU KNOW? Franklin had thirteen virtues to which he tried to lead his life, one being on silence, "Speak not but what may benefit others or yourself, avoid trifling conversation". And on Humility he says "Imitate Jesus and Socrates".
Franklin is on the $100 dollar bill and has been on three postage stamps, in 1861, 1895, and in 1956.
