There IS something to owning a truly rare coin. In my mind a coin like this one is really even more rare than many proof strikes. Proofs were struck for collectors and were never intended for general circulation, ergo there should be many of them still in existence! This coin was never intended for saving but for use and spending. I know I know.. many of you will argue that many Morgans were kept in bank vaults for many years because they were unpopular. True. BUT even among the many that were set aside due to their contemporary unpopularity there are not many that meet the high standards that exist to be bequeathed with a high grade such as 67, 68 or 69! To me the fact that this coin survived over 130 years and has found its way to me is trully astounding and God willing I will keep it for many years to come!
