In the United States in 1806/ At the mint the rarest 1806 half dollar is minted, the 1806 Knobbed 6 no stem through claw, know as Overton variety 108 there are current 7 examples known. The last recorded sale of a 1806 knobbed 6 no stem was sold in 1995 for an undisclosed sum./ The United States Mint stops making dies for silver dollars and will not begin again for thirty years.
