Picked up this MS 68 gem in the June, 2011 Baltimore Stack's Bowers sale. Here's how the coin was described: "Gorgeous, mottled, olive-gray and reddish-orange iridescence is more widely distributed over the reverse of this stunning Superb Gem. The 1938-D Oregon Trail has a net mintage of just 6,005 pieces, and we suspect that fewer than 150 survivors are comparable in quality to the coin being offered in this lot."
