Owner Comments:

The Designer of the Obverse was Joe Fitzgerald, with Don Everhart II, being the Engraver. The Reverse on this date
was Designed by Jamie Franki and Engraved by Norman E. Nemeth. These Artists have remarkably made this coin
a piece of Art. Their accomplishments will be noted thru-out history.

The 1st-Reverse' on 2005 nickels were titled "American Bison" which featured this famous animal of our "Great-Plains". It was a Art Professor from North Carolina,"Jamie Franki" who had drawn-up this Newly-Revised nickel. There was also (SMS) or Special Mint Sets used for this year.

Jaime Hernandez:
The 2005-P Jefferson Nickel had a one year Bison reverse design. That same year or in 2005, the Mint also issued a Jefferson Nickel with an Ocean View reverse design. Both coins proved to be very popular amongst collectors. Finding them in change was fairly easy since the Mint struck them in the hundreds of millions for each design and from each Mint.
The 2005-P Bison Nickel was not well struck for being a modern coin issued in 2005. Most examples were spotted, came with large nicks, scratches and had a lot of problems overall. Finding an example in MS65 or higher was difficult. Examples in MS66 or higher are a diamond in the rough and definitely worth keeping if you are able to find one.
