1922 (Denver)
This issue is not rare, but samples in MS65 or higher without die cracks are uncommon. In an attempt to produce more fully detailed coins, the Denver mint resorted to increased pressure when striking the planchet, resulting in cracks in the die which were then imprinted on the coin. These cracks usually appear on the obverse, concentrically with the edge of the coin, under Miss Liberty's neck. Excessive bag marks are also common.
This coin is an exception, in that it has no die cracks and very few marks, with the typical strong strike from the Denver mint. Great luster is also exhibited.
