The 1992 $5- Christopher Columbus Quincentenary, celebrates the 500th Anniversary of the 1492 voyage from Palos de la Frontera to the new world. Columbus is portrayed facing the map of the new world on obverse. On the reverse depicts the Crest of the Admiral of the Ocean Sea. Columbus was known as the Admiral of the Sea.
