Owner Comments:

This is the year the Titanic sunk. This piece is one of only two coins so graded at NGC, while there are three more pieces of the issue graded PR68 at NGC without the Star designation (4/07). Considerable contrast is present, as the fields are brilliantly mirrored and considerable mint frost coats the devices, even if insufficiently so for a Cameo designation. Both sides are basically untoned, with just the tiniest tinge of lilac at the upper obverse, with a hint of the same hue on the reverse. The coin is nearly fully struck, save for the typical weakness at the right (facing) shield corner and eagle's wing, a function of that area opposing the highpoints of Liberty's cheek.
