This common St.Gaudens double eagle is MS-62 graded by ngc.
Obverse:Obverse of this coin shows very good details of Liberty's dress and an good strike with no noticiable weakness on the common point: the breast and legs where luster rolls perfectly also under magnification. Face, hands and rays are bold with no serious marks. Same contact marks are present on miss Liberty on the breast. Field is excellent with no marks at all but one quite heavy just up the right arm. Luster is satin and nice round well but not impressive. Eye appeal is really good. Same orange spots are present but not distracting. In my opinion a good old ngc slab candidate for a little upgrade.
Reverse:Reverse looks better and the strike is full. Eagle is full detailed in all the feathers, head and tails. Rays are continuous and same marks are present of eagle wings. Field is good. Luster round better then obverese and enlight all the details of the eagle. Eye appeal is very very good.
My opinion:
Surface preservation:3/5
Details/Strike:2/5
Luster:2/5
Eye Appeal:3/5
