Owner Comments:
I love Laura Gardin Fraser's coin designs, and the Grant is no exception. The problem is Grants are often dipped, or the toning is ugly. This coin has fantastic toning for a Grant, with the usual great luster, a better than average reverse strike, and therefore is a very PQ 65. The toning is predominantly orange and lemon yellow with traces of red, violet, and blue closer to the rims, and very light pastel greens and blues bleeding into the fields. I originally had my eyes on a 66 as the perfect grade that balanced quality and cost, but I dare anyone to compare 99% of the 66's out there with this coin that "only" grades a 65. Yet again, registry points be damned!
