Owner Comments:
A hard one to find in PL condition with only 5 being graded so far with NGC. This Top 100 Vam 41 1878-P 7/7 TF Variety shows extensive doubling of the tailfeathers. Obverse II2- Fourth star on right has just part of point broken off. The reverse B/Ak is showing seven tail feather ends under the 2, between 2 and 3, under 3,4,5,6, and faintly between 6 and 7 TF. This is one of the best examples of the 7/8 TF, with the ends extending halfway between the 7 TF ends and the top of the bows. Design remains in leaves of branch, below branch on left, and around wreath below. Faint outline of arrow shafts below crossover of branch and arrow shafts. Extra feather below eagle's head. Die chips around R in TRUST. Doubled right leg and talons on eagle. This PL Morgan is showing good contrast between the devices and prooflike fields. The coin could go MS63PL in my book but then again it is in the eye of the beholder.
