Nice prooflike reflectivity showing through hazed fields. This coin shows a very good srike with full feathers on the reverse. The devices have moderate frost with some abrasions coming from being in circulation. A number of die varieties exist for the 1886-0 with the only signifcant one being the Vam 1A. The Vam 1A is known for the "E" under the eagle's feather due to clashed dies and is in the Top 100 Morgan Varieties. Fully prooflike specimens in general are extremely rare and vary considerably in strike and contrast.The NGC Census Report shows only 20 prooflike 1886-O'S ever graded at NGC with 9 in AU58 and 7 higher. This 1886-O PL is the VAM 3 showing the normal die of III2 type with the open 6. Purchased from Heritage Coins Long Beach Signature Auction 2/06
