A total of 3,127,781 pieces were minted in San Francisco. These coins were packaged (into a Black Box) and issued as a 1978 Proof Set from the US Mint. The Reverse of this coin was made with the Type 3 Improved High-Relief coin die.

Pictured with this coin is a Commemorative 1990P Proof Eisenhower Centennial Silver Dollar. This coin was issued to honor the 100th Birth anniversary of Dwight David Eisenhower, a Five Star General, Statesman and the 34th President of the United States.
