The more elusive strong mintmark variety; Deep crusty green-gold coloration over subdued luster. Probably the most under-rated of 1850-59 C-mint HE dates. Mintage dropped by 25K from previous year to 39,283. Combined PCGS/NGC population is 170-175 in all grades. Crust personified... exhibits interesting reverse die break from first "S" in STATES, through left (facing) wing, on into the arrow shaft feathers, through the "C" in AMERICA, to the rim.
