THIS COIN: A true satiny Gem! The medium golden gray surfaces support strong cartwheel luster and halos of peach, crimson and gunmetal-blue that work their way outward from the center on both sides.
BACKGROUND: With chopmarks, the 1874 Trade Dollar is not particularly rare in circulated grades. Unchopmarked examples are much scarcer in Mint State grades than the mintage total of 987,100 suggests.
