This half eagle shows die lines across both sides of the coin, with bright yellow color pervading the surfaces. This coin surely looks "as made" and is a testament to the Charlotte facility's particular quality. Strike softness can be found on the brow and the curls above the ear of Lady Liberty, and there is a curious interruption of die lines on the reverse between the eagle's wing and olive leaves. Even without a mintmark, this piece would be suspected of coming from the Charlotte Mint.
