The 1984 Los Angeles Summer Olympic games were celebrated with the issuance of the 1983 Commemorative Silver dollar. This first issue was of three uncirculated and one proof coin. The P being the only uncirculated coin to be sold separately. It was however included in the three coin set of P D S issues for $89.00. The obverse depicts that of a discus thrower in motion by simulating a "3-D effect. The reverse is that of a a bald eagle.
