Owner's Description

Purchased on 9/21/2011. This is the proof strike of the 1 Crown coin minted in 1953 to celebrate the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II. The proof strike was minted in a relatively small quantity of only 40,000 pieces. A standard version of the coin was also minted in a mintage of more than 5 million pieces. This particular coin exhibits nice cameo contrast on the obverse and reverse. The photo compilation accompanying the coin evidences the long time love of horses of Queen Elizabeth.
