Medal, 1895, AL, MECHANICS FAIR CENTENNIAL, GOODYEAR WELT AND TURNED SHOES, Boston, Mass. So Called Dollar HK-733 AL, Rulau Bos 30, NGC MS62, Cert# 2777337-002. Engraved by Camille L. Chapelle, struck by Scovill Manufacturing Company. Obv. In center is old fashioned ladies high shoe; above Goodyear, below Welt; to l. of shoe Easiest, to r. Best; above all, around 100th Anniversary Mechanics Fair Boston; below all * 1795-1895 * Rev. Trade / mark on central globe, Goodyear Welt on ribbon wrapped around globe; at bottom of globe, microscopic C. L. C.; outside above, around Call for Goodyear Welt and Turned; below * Shoes *. Only a few of these medals are known even though H&K rate this a R-5, Smallforest guide indicates much rarer, not seen at auction in years. This MS62 is tied for finest, 1 lower. RARE.
